Sustainable Campus Management Policy
Scope:
This policy applies to all aspects of campus operations and facilities management at R. C. Patel Educational Trust’s Institute of Management Research and Development, Shirpur, with the aim of promoting sustainability, environmental responsibility and inclusivity.
Objectives:
1. To reduce the carbon footprint and energy consumption of the campus through the implementation of alternate energy sources and energy conservation measures.
2. To effectively manage various types of waste, both degradable and non-degradable, through waste segregation, recycling, and composting practices.
3. To conserve water resources by implementing water-saving ways and promoting responsible water usage across campus.
4. To initiate and sustain green campus initiatives that promotes eco-friendly practices and contributes to environmental preservation.
5. To Initiate and maintain plastic free campus that promotes eco-friendly environment in campus.
Procedure and Practice:
1. The institute shall work on awareness of students on environmental conservation by involving them in the nature friendly activities and motivating them to contribute in the mission to dream this planet green.
2. The institute tooks efforts to adopt energy saving policies by switching to the solar energy as the alternate energy source in the institute.
3. By adopting environment friendly approach and conducting collaborative activities, outreach activities through NSS and SDD units.
4. Purchase LED lights and use low energy consuming electrical devices.
Initiatives:
1. Tree plantation and conservation drive in each year.
2. Maintaining Cleanliness and addiction free campus.
3. Green and environment audit through external agency.
4. Working on rain-water harvesting.
5. E-waste management initiative.
6. Installation of energy efficient equipment and solar energy system.
